About
Cora Laszlo is a Brazilian dance-maker, teacher, and researcher. She holds a BA in Dance and a Licentiate degree in Dance Teaching from Unicamp (Brazil), a specialization degree in Klauss Vianna Technique from PUC-SP (Brazil), and a MA in Performance Studies at NYU. Her research focuses on dance improvisation, presence studies, decolonial practices, and critical pedagogies. She is the author of Outros Caminhos de Dança (2018), a book on teaching the Klauss Vianna Technique to teenagers. Cora was based in New York from 2018 to 2022, where she created the dance solo December 32; performed as a LEIMAY Arts in the Community Garden Fellow, and received a City Artist Corps Grant. Cora’s doctoral research looks at Brazilian dance pedagogical experiences that challenged Eurocentric dance practices, focusing on the country’s contemporary dance scene after the 1960s amidst the turbulent artistic and political developments of the time.
