WACSmash 2023 Saturday Afternoon

WACSmash 2023 Saturday Afternoon
  • Saturday, February 4, 2023 • 2:00 PM

Join us for WACsmash, the annual showcase, and gallery created and produced by the undergraduate students of the World Arts & Cultures/Dance Department.

WACsmash is a showcase and gallery of dance, film, visual art, music, spoken word, photography, and other artistic work created and produced by undergraduate students in the World Arts and Cultures/Dance Department. Performing and visual artists within our department will showcase their pieces at our very own Kaufman Hall! The Friday night performance will be live-streamed and a recording will be available after on wacsmash.com.

As societies, institutions, communities, environments, and cultures continuously shift, we find ourselves confronting transformation. Metamorphosis. The profound change of the form or nature of a thing or being into something completely different, by natural or supernatural means.

Gallery will be available before the live performances, during intermission, and after the live performances. Join us for creat(e)ion myth--an interactive performance where you will be able to make/take home your own artwork--that begins at 6:15 pm in Kaufman 208. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. This audience will have priority seating for the rest of the show. The remaining performances will begin at 7 pm in Kaufman 200. There will be two acts and a 20-minute intermission.
