This Fellowship Workshop is an opportunity for accomplished professionals to work for a concentrated period on conceptual and practical issues regarding dance film/video. Fellows will work together in this ten-week session in a mutually supportive environment that challenges and expands their working methods. Philosophical discussions and debates within the group will spark creative experimentation and generate new ideas. Distinguished guest speakers from the field representing a broad range of professional experience and expertise have been invited to engage in in-depth conversation with the fellows and, in some cases, conduct hands-on mini-workshops. Members of the Leadership Group will also serve as valuable resources and help fellows develop contacts with the professional world. These exchanges will insure ample opportunity for dialogue with working professionals, increase the self-reflective skills of fellows, lead to new areas of inquiry, and help them develop fresh approaches to the subject.
